Jeremy TinderI missed you guys during my unscheduled week off—I came down with what has to be one of the extremely few cases of comics blogging withdrawal on record. Not sure how to make it up to you, but I hope this helps. Remember that interview we did with Top Shelf’s awesometastic Jeremy Tinder a couple of weeks ago? Well, during that time Mr. Tinder dropped off a few pieces of art for use in our blog, one of which was a page from the forthcoming follow up to Cry Yourself to Sleep, the details of which, at the time of the interview, Tinder had yet to actually reveal to his publishers. If this page is any sign, the book will easily top the artist’s first wonderful book, sure to please anyone who, like us Cross Hatch staff members, has become a big fan of Tinder’s painted output over the past couple of years. This time out, the format is less comic, more children’s book—text on the left page, a full page of painting on the right.  Here a boy is clearly taunting a dog with a snake on a stick. The reason why? Your guess is as good as ours.

I have no idea what’s going on there, but that’s a fantastic image. Suddenly, I’m looking forward to his new book as well!
